Our story
Welcome to our story about Pie in the sky farm and bakery If I’m being honest I had a hard time writing this out. I tried plugging in the typical words like “family owned” or “in the heart of” while this is true I don’t feel like this captures the spirit of our farm.
I’ve been told that part of our success has been that I’ve always been myself. With that in mind, I’ll do my best to tell our story.
In 2011, my family started this idea of running a little farm. This farm was meant to be a hobby, nothing more. While I completed elementary school we continued to build up our hobby farm. In high school we started going to farmer’s markets and building our bakery. When I finished high school, I wasn’t sure if farming was in my future. With the encouragement of my dad I decided to go to New Zealand to work on an apple orchard. While in New Zealand I learned so much about horticulture I decided to go back to Canada and pursue farming. My first year back I went to Mohawk collage for Business and graduated with honours. Since then we have grown so much, 2024 saw us open another location in downtown Grimsby where we make authentic organic sourdough bread, croissants in addition to all the produce we grow at the farm. 2025, saw us welcome our newest member of the pie in the sky family, Finn, my son. I’m so proud and honoured to have been able to all these things. I genuinely don’t do any of this for my own esteem, rather, this story is for the benefit for my wife, kids and all our amazing customers.
